i have downloaded blackberry software manager 7.1 and trying to update bold 9900. To start of with the software picks up the phone connected to it and then i get to the update bit on desktop manager fine, click update and get a message (An updated blackberry desktop software component must be insalled before you continue). This is where the problems start. downloading this does somthing and the desktop software doesnt recognise any blackberry device connected. its not damaged leads or ports, i have removed and re installed. i have run as administrator. i have tried everything, the only thing i can think of is if its a dodgy update by blackberry. hope someone has this problem and found the problem
