Hi Guys ,
I wonder if you can help me with this Syncronization issue.
I have a vista windows laptop (32 bit) using outlook for 5.5 yrs and just synced the address book contacts ( not emails) between my blackberry Curve 8310 smartphone (EDGE) and the BBM app . I upgraded the BBM app on my Vista machine to ver 4.5.0.180 a few years ago and all ok. My internet provider is Sky so I use a Hotmail email account which converts to PST files for Outlook. This is still working today ok but i just purchased a new Laptop.
The new laptop is running windows 7 (64bit) but the shop downloaded the BBM already still ver 4.5.0.180 same as my old vista laptop. My Blackberry is still exactly the same.
I have set the PST location to be the same location address as my old vista PC and everything looks the same between both PC's , double checked this as the sync error indicates a PST issue ?..
I now have set my new Win7 machine to rec all my emails and cc all my contacts over from my old machine to the new one. I have over 3250 contacts .... i make about 2-5 changes a week so want to keep it up to date on my pc and blackberry device - hence the sync via cable once a week ( not over the air).
My problem .
When i connect my Blackberry to the USB port via a cable (same cable as i use on my vista machine) , it talks ok by bringing up the password box to sync the blackberry to my outlook contacts.
I enter the password correctly but the moment it accepts the password the following information box pops up :-
Synchronization Error
" Unable to Access local folders. If your outlook profile uses the Hotmail connector you must create a local data store (PST) and set it as the local delivery location for the profile. ".
Questions
1/ Any thoughts as to why this is occurring or have anyone of you guru’s seen this before ?
2/ Do you think I need a different BBM version on my windows 7 machine to my Vista machine ?
3/ If my PST file location is the same should I perhaps delete and re-install the BBM app and start again ?
Any thoughts gratefully appreciated.
Best regards Keith
