Caller ID picture when connected to Blend

Noticed this, not sure if it was because of Blend or rather the network.

 

Had a friend call me, initially the caller ID was showing up fine with his profile picture and number recognized to the contact showing the name, however that call was a network fault, all we heard was popping noise.

 

I then connected my phone to Blend and Link via Wi-Fi to transfer some stuff, and he called me again after I called him back without pickup. This time, however, the contact was not matched to the name and came in as "unrecognized caller" though the number was the same.


Syncing Blackberry Bold contacts to Outlook contacts

When I sync the contacts from my Blackberry Bold 9780 to Outlook only several fields show up in Outlook: Full name, file as, and email. I want to sync the catagories, phone numbers, addresses, etc. Scotty

Cannot synch contacts from Curve 9360 to pc

I am trying to copy my contacts from my Curve 9360 to my pc so I can create a csv file.

The synch contacts option is not available on the desktop software. The message says I need to turn off wireless synch. The instructions to do that say I need to launch contacts (or calendar -- I have tried both), select options, and uncheck wireless synchronization. The problem is that wireless synchronization does not appear as an option. Can anyone please help?

Incomplete Restore of Contacts to Bold 9900

Hello,

 

Using blackberry desktop software (v7.1.0.41) I was only able to restore 93 of 121 contacts. I only selected Address Book - All to restore. I opened the file in Magic Berry and could see all 121 contacts and their information. I deleted all contacts from my phone, and then did a hard reset, before restoring contacts without success. I received no error message, just a finished message. I tried installing the software on a different computer but the same issues occured. All my other data appears to have been restored correctly and to the most recent version.

 

The 28 unrestored contacts were the most recently added to my address book. My phone is a Bold 9900 v7.1.0.1033 Platform 5.1.0.692. I do not have Blackberry Internet Service. I do not have a "Desktop Sync service book." I do not have MS Outlook. As far as I'm aware the only other way to back up and restore my contacts is through paid apps in Blackberry App world. I will try these in the future, but if the desktop software worked that would be ideal.

I have got a new PC and installed BB Link and BB Blend on it and now keep on geting these messages - 

 

- If I sync with Outlook it  comes back 'A Network error occured. Tr again later'

 

- or when i sync with my Windows contacts it comes back with ' CRADSDatabase ERROR (5211). Therre was an error converting Unicode String to or from code page string

 

Can anyone help?

How to transfer Bold 9900 backup files from Desktop Software Manager to SD card

I just traded in my Bold 9900 for a Q10.

 

The salesperson told me that I only needed to do a backup of my 9900 files on Desktop Software Manager and this would allow me to transfer my contacts, pictures etc to the new Q10 smartphone. To my horror, I found out that the 9900 files could not be exported to my new Q10 devise since OS10 is not supported by Desktop Software Manager.

 

Since I no longer have the old 9900, it seems my only option is to transfer my files from Desktop Software manager to to microSD card and then insert this card into the new Q10 smartphone. However, I am unable to figure out how to export my 9900 data on to the microSD card.

 

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi

 

I use the 9700 via AT commands from the PC.

I have RIM Desktop Manager (and Device Manager) 7.1 installed.

Every time i connect the RIM or launch the RIM DesktopM, 1 to 2 pop-up's appears in windows, requesting the proxy/firewall uername/password (we are actively using this feature, and can not be disabled).

In RIM DM i have disabled all, including automatic update, so wonder why this happens at all.

So is there a hack to prevent this from happening, or maybe run without RIM DesktopM launched?

Seems that just installing the RIM USB Modem drivers is not working (comports listed but not usable).

RIM 9700 BOLD AT Commands (like SMS)

Hi

 

Is there a way to trigger a SMS transfer via AT commands in the MS?

The standard way from 27.005 is not working, and according to the MS AT command list, the SMS commands are not supported at all.

 

In general not many AT commands seems to be supported in this model, so wonder whether there are specfic RIM AT commands to be used instead?

9810 Backup

9810 Sw 7.0 Bundle 1672. When doing a Backup from DTM it progressing until it gets to "Back Up Smart Card Options", then DTM freezes, and doesnot save the .bbb file.  Any ideas how to solve this ? Thanks

I am getting the following error while trying to uninstall the Blackberry Device Software Updater 7:1.0.95.

 

Error 1216: The specified user already exists.

 

I no longer have the phone or need the software.

Blackberry Link Slows my Laptop to a Crawl

I've tried to install Blackberry LInk twice now on my computer, and both times it renders my computer to a slow crawl. Video becomes choppy and unwatchable. 

 

Anyone have a similar problem? Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Desktop Sync deletes events from Outlook 2013 Claendar

A colleague has a BB 9900 and runs W7 on his PC.

He has a very large calendar and a big PST email file, around 12Gb. The BB  desktop sync has been working OK until early this year when it started to randomly delete sections of the Outlook Calendar. At one time he lost a Month and another time he lost a week.

I have noted several very old messages regarding Outlook 2013 support. Can anyone advise the current status.

Is Outlook 2013 supported? Does anyone have the same calendar issue? Has anyone found a fix for this problem?

Any comments appreciated.

Hi, I wonder if anyone could help me. I am having a hard time synchronizing calendar and contacts from BB 9315 to Outlook 2013. I have set it up to sync both ways, but it simply won't work. Anything I add on my outlook calendar will not sync to my device. And anything in my BB contacs will not sync to Outlook (device PC sync is just not happening, even thought I set it up to do it). Any thoughts on that? By the way, I am using Desktop Manager 7.01 and a higher version is no t supported by our office. Thanks!

can someone please help me. I have a problem with the sync of the Blackberry Bold with Outlook 2013 running on Windows 8. The contacts are synchronised, but the calender not, it is shown that it is synchronized, but in Outlook I can not see something, only with the contacts.

Help With BBlink - locked out

Hi. I smashed my z30 screen. i was doing some work via bbm. i went and got a loaner phone from rogwrs but the contacts are just my old iphone contacts from icloud. neither of the people i am dealing with on my list. so i went to bblink. i have a passcode on my phone but i thought it was asking for the bblink password so i kept typing in my bblink password not my phone code until i used all 5 attempts. now i am supposed to enter it on my phone to get access but i am unable since its smashed. i really need access to these contacts so i continue on with the business at hand. they musty be wondering what happened to me. and i can see my led light blinking - please help!!

I tried to synchronized contacts via Desctop Software from BB Torch 9800 to the new BB Torch 9810 and by contacts it appeared this message: "Crads Databaze error (5221): There is an error converting Unicode string or to from code page string." Could you help me what to do to be able to synchronize my all previous contacts?
