I am having problems installing the blackberry desktop software on my OS WINDOWs 8 to allow me tether my smartphone with my desktop for me to enjoy d data plan for my internet connectivity.
I have downloaded the software but Windows tells me that " that I need .NET FRAMEWORK 35 sp 1"
I have been able to manually tune it on via d control panel, yet is asking me for internet access for other files, which was my reason for all this.....I don't have internet now, what do I do? Every time I try to click 'install', it says same thing.

Out of control desktop log files

I got a report of low disk space on my C: drive, so I search and found a BB directory w/almost 2G of log files in it - located here:

C:\Users\tdk\AppData\Local\Research In Motion\BlackBerry 10 Desktop

With files that look like this:

DesktopHelper.log-2015-03-19.log

Desktop.log-2015-03-15.log

Everything appears to be working fine from my perspective, so I need to know - how do I purge these files and turn this off?

Synchronizing Contacts on Bold 9650

Maybe wrong thread but I have to start somewhere. Quick story . When syncing my Bold 9650 to Outlook 2007 ( which i have been doing for years ) I got 200 changes and I stopped the sync a few times . Then got error message 0x80040fb3 and made some changes to OUTLOOK Country of contacts and I did as instructed in a forum and I exported to csv file and reimported to outlook. Did a wipe of contacts IIRC and restored . I did multiple backups , and now contacts is greyed out in Desktop software and the older backup March 11th or so show 767 contatcs but they are also greyed out . Desktop software shows address book not installed. My device shoows Contacts as Default now, and I believe it was linked to my Email prior to wipe. It has 577 contacts ( no idea why ) and does not show contatcts anywhere in default service .(Advanced ,default services shows Cical and CimeOnly ) The phone is no longer active on the sprint network, but I have been basically uusing it as a PDA to keep calendar contacts memos etc synched bewteen 2 laptops running win 7 How should I proceed? Thank you Peter P

I can connect to the Internet . But when I tried to connect to app world I get an internal server error 500. I tried to connect to BLACKBERRY APP world via the icon on the phone and I click on the apply to all apps and agree then it says to use it, I have to upgrade. When I agree I get the same error code 500 FYI when I am connected to my Fios 25/25 router the downloads of pages are very very slow. Also the wifi icon is not brightly lit as it used to be ! I Can export all the contacts in outlook on my NYC laptop to a CSV File . I have 716 now and prolly still 12xx on the one in Greece export them and save where? win 7 is Still confusing to me and I save things I cannot find later ! LOL I can connect to Blackberry world on CRACKBERRY site. I switched to an IPhone 14 months ago ( reluctantly after I got a BB 10 that I found does not sync with desktop software and outlook . I recently synced my contacts with my iPhone but not calendar or memos etc. I have a SIM card from Vodaphone GREECE in my Bold that has been replaced by the same prepaid plan using a mini sim on my IPhone when I am in GREECE which is roughly 5 months a year It seems that that SIM card connects to a mobile network , I believe Att so I have phone turned off and all roaming set to no . I exported all my outlook contacts to a CSV file as suggested on my laptop and reimported them and now they are grayed out in all my backups. I can find backups with 1200 contacts , one with 776 contacts which is after I cleaned them up before syncing IPhone and the most recent backups with no contacts in DESKTOP SOFTWARE 7.1 Also on my phone it shows default contacts list with 577 contacts and 716 in outlook which used to be 760 or so . This is what I experienced when I was doing my last SUCCESFUL SYNc , a difference of about 180 that I would allow the sync to complete . Then I started searching to solve that problem and made things worse . Also in outlook I changed the address from UNITED STATES ETC , to none on all my contacts . Any way to force the backup address files to be read ? It says read only where they are grayed out I had been using the BB as a PDA SYNCING contacts , calendar memos etc between my laptop in NYC and the one in Greece . I was using DESKTOP software 6.1 .0 which was compatible with a third old win Xp laptop that I used to SYN with to understand better when desktop software says address book not installed is it reading that from the device ? If so when I get to GREECE the other laptop will show the same thing , correct? it's not that contacts are not installed on the desktop software , it's the device that's at fault Thank you Peter P

When I last attempted to sync. my bold 9900 to outlook 2007 calendar April 7, 2015 I got this msg. "Unable to access local folders. If your Outlook profile uses the Hotmail connector, you must create a local data store (PST) and set it as the default delivery location for the profile" How do I set my existing PST file as the default location?

I have problems syncing myBold 9650 to Outlook 2007 using DT software V 6.1.0.

I was able  see in contacts >options :

Default :

Wirless synchronization  ( not available and that can not be changed )

Number of entries 769 but the device said no contacts .

But I could not see any of the comtacs and address book was greyed out in DT software .

As suggested , I did a few backups and then did the RSET trick to clear contacts and restored them

successfully one time .. (One Time) and I thought I had it solved . Nahh

I was able to see all 769 contacts for one application opening and then very shortly thereafter

they vanished again

If I create a new contact and open the  contacts app , it says no contacts , and shows the contact  I have just created. Also in the DT software , it says address book not installed , and all my back ups of

" Address book all" , are also greyed out .

I use this as a PDA to sync between two laptops one in the USA and one in Greece and all my life is in there .  I have read multiple threads and tried too many things to mention here ,

Please help

TIA

Peter P

Error 200

Hi,

My blackberry is showing an error message 200. I have downloaded the desktop manager which says that it does not recognise my device/cannot connect to the device. When I have clicked on 'repair' to try and reinstall the phone software, it says that there are no available software updates and then the menu closes.

Does anyone know how I can reinstall the software or restore the phone to factory settings?

Thank you.
